About this project
A kitchen in an Amsterdam apartment, with tall units in dark figured wood and an island in black marble with copper coloured veining. The tall casement windows run almost to the ceiling and put the island in backlight.
Marble is one of the hardest materials to render, because the pattern differs per slab and light travels a little way into it. We carried the veining around the side panel the way a stone mason would, because that is precisely what a client checks.
